Abstract
The process, as used in underground construction, tunnelling, shaft driving or similar works, is for the successive independent forwarding of a series of adjoining structural units along a common axis, using forwarding devices between the units, and a full-length connecting component, joined to a traction mechanism at the front end. The first forwarding device (B1), between the first two units (A1, A2) is activated, the traction mechanism (E) and anchoring members (F1-F3) being released, so as to move the first unit forward relative to the second. The first forwarding device is released, and the connecting component (C) is harnessed to the next unit via the anchoring member concerned second drive device (B2) likewise, to move the second unit, and so on, until the last unit is forwarded.
