Abstract

The chair has rigid side frames, each comprising horizontal (1) and vertical (2) sections supporting the seat and back. Arm rest and front and rear cross bars make a single assembly. Canvas is used for the seat and the back, in three portions (9, 10, 11) joined together along a common edge (12). The free edge of each portion is fixed to a cross rail (6, 7, 8) and these locate in recesses in each side frame. There are three recesses (3) for the front seat rail, three (4) for the top back rail and one (5) near the rear feet for the stretcher canvas. Each set provides a different adjustment.
