Abstract
Convex roof for solar heating comprises rings of heating pipes arranged one above the other in a convex, e.g. spherical or hemispherical shape, with a liquid flowing through the pipes, and above the pipes transparent insulation which prevents escape of heat from solar energy from the black heat-storing surfaces of the pipes. The heting pipes may be switched on and off in one or more groups, and beneath them may be a refractory which can act as a storage heater, from which the heat can be conducted away by liquids or air. Connected to the storage heater may be a heat pump from which the sub-cooled liquid flows back into the heating circuit of the heating pipes. The pipes may be enamelled in diferent colours on the inside and outside, and assembled in sections.
