Abstract

A device for the identification of three-dimensional parts is used to select parts from a loose set of different parts. It is based a selection strategy, the choice of a characteristic of the part, a multiple hologram filter, a scan of the loose parts and the measurement of a correlation signal. The hologram filter is formed between two lenses. A laser is used to project coherent light onto the loose parts. Part of the light beam from the laser is reflected by a semi-transparent mirror and along a direction parallel to the optical axis of the lenses. An automatic analysis device is used to detect the maximum light intensity of correlation responses appearing in the focal plane of the upper lens.
