Abstract
The cooling unit uses the ambient air for cooling fluids in thermal power stations. It comprises a series of air cooling units (14, 17) working with the condensers (6, 7) cooled by the fluids, and mounted in layers in a natural draught cooling tower (18). As the air heats up it passes in succession through the cooling units, whose fluids have steadily increasing temperatures. It always flows first through the unit serving the condenser at lowest temperature. There can be two air cooling units, each serving a surface condenser of a low-pressure turbine (4, 5). Each cooling fluid circuit has a recycling pump.
