Abstract

The self-steering drive mechanism is for a transport truck, having a steering and driving wheel (A) keyed to a shaft (B) and driven by a motor with reduction gear (D). This wheel is mounted in a yoke (C) fixed to a bracket (L), which in turn has fixed to it a trunnion (E) working in a bearing in the truck. One horizontal roller (F) is mounted on the bracket by means of a fixed arm (H), and a second one is mounted on a further arm swinging on the bracket (K). Stops (R, S) on the bracket work in conjunction with a retracting bolt (T) on the truck, limiting the slewing angle of the mechanism.
