Abstract

The metal formwork for permanent location in the soffit of concrete floors has a flat metal part (1) with spaced upwardly projecting ribs (2). The ribs are dovetail shaped and run parallel to each other, their purpose being to bind to the cast concrete. The upper surface of the ribs (3) is generally flat and supports the steel reinforcing bars (5). At regular interval the surface is indented to form horizontal grooves (6) with dihedrally inclined sides, which further improve the bonding between concrete and metal formwork.
