Abstract

An electrically heated furnace has a system to control the difference between the demanded temperatures and that of the load. The difference is decreased by using a multiplication factor on the temperature difference. Amplificaton of correction of the demanded value is obtained permitting rapid establishment of process temperature. A temperature sensor senses the temperature of heating elements. A comparator compares this value with the demanded value to produce a proportioned difference signal. A second sensor close to the load senses the temperature near the load and a difference circuit produces the difference between this value and the demanded value. An amplifier multiples this difference by a coefficient. A summing circuit adds the comparator output to the amplifier output to control the heating elements.
