Abstract
The system of hydro-electric plants deployed on a closed ring of canals is designed to optimise the harnessing of sea power. The canals are sited across a natural or artificial isthmus land formation. Circulatory flows may be contrived in the canal ring to minimise energy losses due to contra-flows. Lines of sluices or turbines may be used to separate the extremities of the canal loop from the sea. Beyond the turbine line dihedral dyke formations may be sited to gather wave and swell formations. Further lines of turbines may be provided traversing the canal and dividing it into basins.
