Abstract

Two-part plastics puring stopper or fitting for a bottle has an inner part (2) which fits inside the neck of the bottle (7). This part has inner and outer skirts (4, 6) and a surrounding rim (5) which is pressed against the top of the neck of the bottle. The inner skirt (6) extends above the level of the rim (5). The second part has a skirt (8) with an inward protrusion (9) so that it can be clipped into place on the bottle, retaining the inner part. The cap section (12, 13) is attached by a hinger (16) of flexible plastic. A gap (15) to assist opening is placed opposite the hinge. A cylindrical part (12) is pushed down into the inner part of the first element to seal the bottle.
