Abstract

Appts. for use in the mfr. of articles by the lost-wax process of precision casting comprises a device for holding pattern(s) and means are provided for the rotation, inclination, and the vertical and horizontal displacement of the holding device so that the pattern(s) can be moved from one container towards another container. The appts. is pref. used for the automation of a coating process where all the movement devices are embodied in an assembly providing rotation of 360 degrees and inclination of min. 180 degrees, and the holding device pref. consists of an L-shaped arm, the articles (e.g. patterns) being mounted on one end of one arm of the "L". Clusters of lost-wax patterns can be coated with refractories. The max. wt. of an assembly of patterns handled by a worker is 11-18 kg, but with this device, several assemblies with wt. >45 kg can be handled.
