Abstract
The DC machine contains auxiliary poles which each have an excitation winding and a forcing winding in order to compensate for a magnetic flux which is produced in the commutation zone by eddy currents in the magnetic conductor of the auxiliary poles. The forcing winding (11) is connected in parallel with, and in the same sense as the excitation winding (10) of the auxiliary poles (9) and its resistance is at least twice as great as the resistance of the excitation winding (10) of the auxiliary poles (9). The forcing winding can be located closer to the commutation zone (14) than the excitation winding of the auxiliary poles (9), its number of turns being equal to or greater than, and its inductance less than, those of the excitation winding. The forcing winding (11') can, however, also be located further away from the commutation zone (14) than the excitation winding (10'), its number of turns then being equal to or less than, and its inductance greater than, those of the excitation winding (10'). The DC machine furthermore contains a means (20) for reducing the stray flux ( PHI S) of the auxiliary poles (9). This means has the form of plates (20) which consist of ferromagnetic material and are mounted in the non-magnetic gaps between the cores of the main poles (6) and the auxiliary poles (9) in the arrangement zone of the winding (10' or 11') which is furthest away from the commutation zone (14). However, this means can also have the form of a bead on the auxiliary pole (9).
