Abstract

The two-type transport system combines travel tracks for individual vehicles connected to conventional roadways. The vehicles have driving and steering wheels, being battery driven when operating independently on the roadways. The travel tracks (16) have guide rails for the steering wheels (18, 20) so that the vehicles travel along definite paths, and there are also conductor rails (22, 24) for pick-up shoes on the vehicle supplying the motor. When the vehicle transfers onto the travel tracks, its movementon them is then externally controlled. The tracks can be spaced apart for the same distance as the steering wheels, each being trough-shaped with a base on which the wheel travels, and side walls acting as guides.
