Abstract

The goods vehicle change lever operates a control mechanism with in one direction the choice of three or more gates whilst in the other direction each gate has two gears. The design prevents selection of wrong gears without delaying the change operation. The control mechanism has at least two locking elements with spigots that lock together two adjacent change gates. If the control is moved in one direction the locking element is moved one gate to the next. In the other direction the locking element is disconnected. The locking element is spring loaded in the inserted and withdrawn position. The locking elements have spring loaded or guide rails and consists of plates that fit through the gearbox housing.
