Abstract

Flue gases, esp. from refuse incineration plants are purified and cooled with water using a combination of evaporative and conductive heat transfer. Some noxious components in the gas are removed absorption or chemical reaction with additive e.g. NaOH in the cooling water, and are removed as solid materials. Used for the purification of gaseous effluent from refuse incineration processes.
