Abstract

The reinforcing wire grid for concrete slabs or structures is assembled using triangular spacers made of the same material as the slabs being cast. The upper tier of wires can be spaced apart and supported by a pair of wires pushed into slots in the top corners of the triangle. The height of the triangle then determines the level of the upper reinforcement. The diameter at the base of each slot matches the diameter of the support wire, and the distance between the slots determines the pitch of the pair of wires. A set of holes through the spacer assists handling. A second set of wires can be interposed with the first.
