Abstract

The system produces energy using the decompression of gases generated at great depths in the sea. It has a electrolytic cell at the base of a cylindrical column several metres high, the column being provided with elecompression valves at its upper end and opening into gas and liquid reservoirs. The gas reservoir may be divided into hydrogen and oxygen storage compartments and used to supply an electrochemical converter connected to an electric battery circuit. The column may be provided with compartments separated by a membrane to permit isolation of the gases, the electrolysis preferably being conducted in a cell of controlled volume.
