Abstract

An arrangement of six wheels on a vehicle, superior to a four wheel arrangement, has the drive wheels (3) between front wheels (4) and rear wheels (5), both the front and rear wheels being used for steering and having a synchronised action. The engine may be positioned as required, e.g. at the rear. The arrangement gives better traction as the load is normally nearer the centre of the vehicle than at the rear, and the use of four steered wheels is better than two only, especially for buses. The transmission is simplified and tendency to skid is reduced.
