Abstract

The base for fixing a post in a concrete support to form part of a guard-rail consists of a housing (13) in which the bottom of the post (14) is fixed at a level which can be adjusted by means of a wedge. This wedge is pressed between a flat surface of the post and a complementary slanting surface of the housing, by means of at least one bolt. The base can also be adjusted angularly in relation to the suppot. The housing is formed inside a socket having a spherical outer surface (8) which slides on a similar spherical surface of the cavity of a bowl (1) which is sunk into the concrete support. The post can be readily adjusted, even though all the measn of assembly are concealed, giving the guard-rail a more pleasing apperance.
