Abstract
A hydraulic turbine blade control assembly has one(7) of each pair of blade pivot shafts (7, 8) connected by a lever and link with a gate ring(2), the rotation of which is controlled by the servo- motors (4) and (5) with supply pipes (9) and return pipes (10). Each lower shaft (8) is actuated by the servo-motor (3) with supply pipes (11) and return pipes (12). The resultant couple on each blade (1) is the difference between the couples applied by the two sets of servo-motors. Because there is a force acting on both shafts (7), (8) play in the pivots is eliminated with a consequent reduction in blade vibration. Shear pins (6) prevents any overload being transmitted to the blades.
