Abstract

The rotary engine is for the Wankel type and uses liquid and oxygen instead of conventional petroleum fuel. The liquefied gases are stored in bottles at high pressure and this pressure is utilised to inject the liquids in the correct proportions into the combustion chamber at the end of the compression phase of the cycle. Additional air is also supplied in order to remove the steam formed by the combustion of the hydrogen and oxygen. The use of liquefied gases at high pressure obviates the need for fuel pumps or compressors and also results in a pollution-free engine.
