Abstract

The electric control unit is for use with a filter cowl having a motor-drive fan and an illuminating lamp, for installation above a kitchen stove. It comprises a single assembly easily recessed into the cowl, with a housing (2) accommodating the electric and elect ronic components of the fan motor supply circuit, these including a potentiometer (6) varying the motor speed, an on/off switch (8) for motor and lamp, and a signal lamp (9) indicating that the motor is running. The potentiometer control button (5) can be arranged to slide in an obling slot (12) in the wall of the cowl (11), being attached to a coloured or numbered component sliding in line with the slot and giving a visual indication of motor speed.
