Abstract

The frame screen consists of a spring steel ring (3) which is fitted to the top of the lighter on the fuel reservoir. The ring surrounds the flint and wheel mechanism. The ring covers more than one half of the circumference of the top of the fuel container so that it remains easy to ignite the fuel. A thumb control plate (8) makes it possible to raise or lower the shield or to revolve it so that the flame at (7) is either entirely protected or protected on one side only, or with the screen lowered, entirely unprotected.
