Abstract

Dyeing of polyurethane yarns treated with anti-static and adhesion-preventing prepsn., comprises winding under constant tension approximating to zero, or a perforated bobbin, immersing in a dye bath at 80-95 degrees C for 30-90 mins. and then drying at 60-75 degrees C. Small amts. of yarn, e.g. 100-300 kg, can be dyed compared with min. batches of 2-4 tonnes in any one colour required in spin-dyeing processes previously used. lengthy cleaning of the plant after each colour is avoided.
