Abstract
A vehicle (7) running on ball bearings (9) on a flat horizontal surface (1) is controlled by the magnetic field produced by four electromagnets (2) placed symmetrically around the periphery with like poles (2a) inward. The vehicle carries six bar magnetis (8) whose outward-facing poles have the same polarity as the electromagnets (2) so that they are repelled by them. Each electromagnet is connected to a potentiometer (3) so that the control lever (4) varies the current through its coil, and hence the field, causing the vehicles to move to the region where the four fields are in equilibrium.
