Abstract

The container handling device is for heavy vehicles and has a hydraulically-controlled lifting jib at its rear. The lifting jib (2) is attached to a container, then moved and lifted on to the vehicle. It can be tilted hydraulically and the main part of the jib (3) can be extended. The bent part of the jib, which is attached to the container can extend to place the container (6) below ground level. The extending jib parts can be a single or multiple telescopic assembly. The arrangement overcomes the difficulties with normal handling equipment being unable to deal with loads below ground level.
