Abstract

A control system for an alphanumeric light display using the methods and procedure outlined in the principal patent, includes a cutoff system between a light condenser and a light diffuser. The cutoff system has a rotating shutter (57) which is pierced by a channel (62) which can be disposed either along the diffuser-condenser axis so as to pass light or transverse to this axis in order to cut off light. The shutter, having a surface which reflects the incident light when in the cutoff, or transverse position, consists of a permanent magnet (61) which is controlled by an electro magnetic field. The shutter may also be controlled by fluid and an electro valve or other means for actuating the pressure fluctuations necessary for control of the shutter.
