Abstract

An oscillator for a continuous casting ingot mould in which the oscillation is along a rectilinear or curvilinear course comprises: a layer consisting of two arms situated symmetrically either side of the ingot mould; two uprights on either side of the mould articulated on the arms of the lever and extending upwards to the ingot-mould support platform; guide blocks fixed to the uprights, the profile of which is dependent on the course of the ingot mould; roller guides for the uprights fixed tot he chassis and which cooperate with the guide blocks; adjustable springs above the lever and either side of the ingot mould; the guide blocks being fixed near the platform and the lever being placed below the level of the upper plane of the ingot mould. The oscillator is adaptable to the different courses which the mould can take. The system of rods is simple and easily accessible. A double guide is effected which is independent for each side of the mould and for each double guide, a simultaneous lateral and transverse guiding is effected. Each double guide is effected with only one type of bearing which simplifies the construction, assembly and control.
