Abstract

The socket or junction box, for flat cables or flexible circuits, has a housing for the flat cable and has a fixing device for it. Metal bolts are in electrical contact with the terminals and may have pointed ends that press onto the flat cable as they are screwed in. A metal holder (17) is located opposite the metal bolts (14) and has two points or knife edges (17a) which are symmetrically arranged relative to a bolt. The points or knife edges bite through the insulation of the flat cable to touch the conductors as the bolts are tightened. Each conductor is forced between two knife edges by one bolt.
