Abstract

The irrigation device consists of a tank (1) having an inlet and outlet (2) at its upper part, which also bears a slot through which protrude one or more wicks (5) to feed water from the tank to the surrounding soil and to also act as plugs for the slots when the tank is on uneven ground. The tanks are made of a synthetic resin and are buried below the soil surface with their wicks arranged in a roughly circular pattern. the tanks are arranged in rows and are connected to one another by pipes, the rows being connected at their ends by pipes (7). The soil may be fed by the addition of fertilisers to the water in the tanks.
