Abstract

The pallet is a pressing and comprises a flat rimmed base (1) equipped with four parallel channels (2) running longitudinally. Each channel has a semi circular bottom surface (6) to hold circular cheeses (7) on edge, these being placed initially against stop faces (4) at one end of the pallet to form rows (8). The front (5) of each channel has recesses (9) for locating a retainer bar (10), this arrangement permitting automatic loading from a wrapping machine. Between each channel, the ribs (3) are extended upwards to form supports (12) for a pallet placed on top and locating in emplacements (13) in each channel. Empty pallets can be nested together.
