Abstract

1293266 Laying fabric CUTTERS MACHINE CO Inc 22 May 1970 [10 June 1969] 24795/70 Heading D1S [Also in Division B8] The reciprocating carriage 35 of a fabric laying machine 20 is provided with a platform 47 to support an auxiliary roll which can be moved into position to replace the working roll 40 when the latter is exhausted. A pivoted treadle 66 mounted on the platform 47 is arranged to actuate a photo-electric device 54 when the platform is empty and when the carriage 35 is in the position shown in Fig. 1, whereby a roll loading apparatus 22 of the type described in Specification 1,293,265 is energised permitting a roll 28 to gravitate on to the platform 47 where it rests against stops 77. The weight of the roll depresses the treadle 66 to render the device 54 inoperative.
