Abstract

1363997 Stacking and feeding sheets VESTRA-UNION MANUFACTURE DE VETEMENTS SA 1 June 1972 [9 June 1971] 25606/72 Heading B8R [Also in Division D1] At a sewing station comprising three sewing machines 2, 3 and 4 fabric being sewn is moved between machines 3 and 4 by two transporting devices 13, 25 along successive paths one transverse to the other. After sewing at the last machine 4 the work is stopped by a device 36 and arranged on a stacker 37. Sensors 7, 33, 35 control the operation of the devices. Transporter 13 comprises a carriage 10 mounting cylinders 11 which project needles 12 through slots 17 in the work table to impale the fabric. Stop feet 18 are provided above the needles to permit impalement. The carriage 10 is then moved in direction 22 by a ram 16. The transporter 25 comprises a needle projecting device 24, 31 set above the worktable, the needles being moved down through hemispherical protectors 27 which strip impaled material from the needles 24 when the latter are withdrawn after the work has reached the machine 4. After sewing the work is stopped by device 36 with its middle overlapping a rod 38<SP>1</SP> of the stacker 37. The brake is released, rod 38<SP>1</SP> moved by a ram 38 towards a support 39 and blower 40 operates as shown in Fig. 12, to direct the upper part of the work over support 39.
