Abstract

The blister package is formed by enclosing the packaged product in a shell of plastics. The process starts with placing a support material, such as paper or carton on the bottom of a casting mould, thus forming the base of the package with the support surface enclosed by a weldable foil. The product to be packaged is then laid on the support surface and then a transparent cover foil is attached to the upper edge of the side surface, which is heated to a temperature permitting a thermal deformation. Finally a rise or lowering of pressure of a fluid (either liquid or gas, especially air) acts on the film so that it is pressed against the packaged product and the weldable foil which surrounds the supported assembly.
