Abstract

The bottle-corking machine has a base and a fixed jaw, a thruster jaw and a third jaw moved by the action of the thruster jaw. The thruster jaw consists of a floating jaw (4) and a tapper (5) acting against it. These two components are in contact with each other via two flat support surfaces (42, 51), at an acute angle to the direction of the thrust force and also via two dovetail grooves. These latter fit together so that the floating jaw is suspended from the tappet. The base can have an edge, adjustable for position, with a dovetail groove in which the movable jaw is suspended by means of a mating groove. Adjustment can be by means of bolts screwing into the base and passing through elongated holes in the edge.
