Abstract

The universal table-mounted vice two parallel moving jaws capable of inverse relative movement. The jaws have cylindrical contact faces and displace by pivoting individually about opposite horizontal and parallel axes. The table surface between the jaws is parallel to the axes, has a crenellated face, and is plane or convex. The jaw-controls may permit their inverse displacement through equal or unequal angles. A plate may be mounted on the central surfaces of the table and may have 'V' section grooves parallel to the axes. The table may include a third jaw capable of movement normal to the trajectories of the jaws.
