Abstract

A double glazed panel has a continuous tubular spacer centrally disposed between the marginal edges of the glass sheets, the sides of the spacer confronting the sheets each having a longitudinal groove defining a reservoir for a non-hardening cold flow adhesive, e.G. polyisobutylene, filling the inner portions of the gaps between the spacer and the sheets. The outer portions of the gaps, i.e. those nearer the edges of the sheets, are filled with a harder adhesive, e.g. a polysulphide, which extends into contact with converging parts of the sides of the spacer and allows pivotal movement of the sheets in response to wind and other loading. The spacer is filled with dessicant.
