Abstract

An apparatus for cleaning clothing or laundry, by washing out coarse dirt before being placed in a washing machine, has a housing where one or more side walls form a passage with an open top for garments to be dropped into the housing. A jet unit delivers fluid under pressure in a spray pattern arranged downwards in diverging streams below the open top when the housing is in the upright position. The unit allows pre-washing of heavily-solid garments or baby napkins by being placed in a wash basin and linked to a domestic water supply.
