Abstract

A vehicle seat which is tilted forwards to enable a passenger to enter or leave the space behind it, has a U section frame (1) attached by a swinging arm (2, 3) each side with locking rods passing through the hinge axis (6, 8). The bottoms of these arms are attached to sliders (4, 5) travelling on guides attached to the floor. The front of the U-frame carries a pair of elongated loops (10, 11) through which passes a tube (12) bent into a U shape. The two arms (25) of this U are pushed forwards by springs (17, 18) housed in cylinders (13, 14) mounted on top of the sliders (4, 5), thus assisting the tilting movement of the seat.
