Abstract

A collapsible metal tube has a closure consisting of an elastic thermoplastics material provided with one or more, pref. radially extending, slot incisions which are normally (i.e. in the absence of pressure on the tube) firmly closed but open when pressure is exerted and so release the content of the tube. The closure is fixed to the tube by means of an integrally moulded (i.e. one-part) plastics body which is placed onto the neck of the tube and covers the inner and outer walls of the same. This body is known per se. Eliminates need for unscrewing and re-screwing the closure. May be operated with one hand. Suitable for use with collapsible tube contng. e.g. cosmetics e.g. toothpaste, beauty cream, shaving cream; or foodstuffs, e.g. mustard, mayonnaise, jam.
