Abstract

Device for calcining fine-grained and powdered matl., esp. crude cement, heated in suspension, and using a ring-shaped reactor fitted with at least one burner and with an upper tangential inlet for preheated air conveying the raw matl.; directly below the reactor is a coaxial cyclone separator contg. an outlet for the heat-treated matl. The novelty is that between the cyclone separator and the reactor is a tangential duct for the suction of flue gases. The tangential duct pref. leads to a preheater, and a second cyclone separator may be connected in the duct. Large scale prodn. is possible avoiding the formation of deposits on the internal walls of the plant, thereby increasing the reliability of the plant in operation.
