Abstract

The couch accommodating the patient is movable in the lengthwise direction, and an X-ray tube is mounted on a support in front of the forward end of the couch and aimed towards the patient. A television image amplifier is mounted in the path of the rays immediately behind the patient couch, together with a sheet film changer for taking direct radiographic pictures. Means are included for aligning the tube alternately with the amplifier and the film changer and simultaneously moving the couch for the corresponding distance. The changer (13) and the amplifier (12) are so mounted as to be movable in the lengthwise direction of the table, being coupled directly together, one behind the other. The changer can be arranged for coupling to either side of the amplifier.
