Abstract

The nail driving fixture consists of a housing with handle and operating lever. A drive system is mounted in the housing which consists of a piston to which a nail driving mandrel is attached. This mandrel is in line with the nail to be driven in. Air is admitted by the valve above the piston which is forced down until it hits a rubber ring. The nails which are to be driven in are mounted on a strip which is stored in a nail store drum. A nail feed-in arrangement is mounted on the nail store, which consists of a plunger operated by a separate valve. A grip which hinges from the end of the piston rod has prongs which are jammed into the nail strip between the nails when the piston is forced in the direction of feed.
