Abstract
The heating device has a low temperature gradient, to allow the temperature of the heated body, e.g. a liquid tank containing a photographic solution, to be regulated precisely. The device uses a resistance heating element which is in the form of a conductive film (5) sandwiched between two insulating sheets (4, 7). The conductive film (5) may be of carbon, e.g. graphite, or may be in the form of a metal coating carried by one of the insulating sheets (4, 7). The current applied to the conductive film (5) is controlled by an electronic circuit (11) including a temperature detector pref. comprising a temperature-dependent resistor (8) contained in a metal tube (9) passing through the heating element into the liquid tank (1).
