Abstract

The seat fits on a plate (3), underneath which is a collar (6) holding the central column (4). This is a solid circular bar and has an axial slot (7) on one side, this slot increasing in depth from top to bottom. The column slides inside a sleeve fitting into the upper end of a tube (5) forming the seat support. A hole tapped in the upper end, through tube and sleeve, holds a handle (8) with a threaded shaft (81) locking into the slot to hold the column in place. A spring (9) applies upward pressure on the column and a screw (11) and plate (10) limit movement.
