Abstract

A plate (23) has a pivot (19) for the ski brake, this having a rear spike (6) and a front pedal (20). This spike is biased in the down position by a spring (21), but is held out of engagement by the ski boot pressing the pedal against a stop (24). The binding (3) pivots upwards (9) to release and is held in the down position by a rear flange (10) contacting a square headed catch (11). This is loosely mounted on a spring loaded rod (12, 13, 17) and is biased upwards when not loaded. It is held by a boss (22) on the brake spike holding, in turn, the release binding down.
