Abstract

The clamping unit is for pressing fork or ring terminations etc. onto insulated wires where the termination has a tubular section into which the wire is fitted and clamped. The clamping unit has a pair of jaws with a single pivot as in pliers and has a three tier magazine containing the terminations laid side by side and fed by spring pressure. The magazine will take terminations of varying sizes and the feeding arrangement and clamping jaw pieces are shaped to accommodate such variations. Feeding from the spring based magazine tiers is achieved by an interlocking lever and cam system.
