Abstract

Each side (10) is separate and has a straight back, inclined rearwards and a length forming the foot, this being curved upwards and backwards at the front to provide an arm rest. A wide strip of canvas, or similar material, forms the back (15) and seat (14); each end having a sleeve (17) for spacer and support rods (11) joining the two sides together. Loops (18) are provided on the canvas, at the junction of the seat and back, for another tube (10), this supporting and tensioning the material by means of elastic bands (20) at its ends fitting over a third spacer rod (11) at the rear of the foot. The spacers and support rods are joined to the sides by screw fitting through the sides and into tapped inserts in the spacers and support rods.
