Abstract

The assembly comprises a housing (10) incorporating a reflector and open at the forward end, where it has an external flange (12). A front lens (14) is attached by its edge to the flange, typically by a number of hooks (22). An external annular joint (24) overlaps the lens edge and the flange, so as to seal off the assembly completely. The joint can incorporate an annular bead (26) to provide a degree of stiffness and bearing against the outside of the housing, preferably adjacent to the flange. Two lips (28, 30) extend from the bead on opposite sides so as to bear against housing and lens.
