Abstract
The battery driven vehicle is positioned beside the battery changing equipment and special frames are extended by servo motors to grip the battery packs and pull them out of the vehicle. Sensors on the frames monitor the relative angle between the vehicle and the equipment, so tht if the angle is above a set value, the changing equipment is blocked so that it cannot act. This prevents the equipment from jamming and protects the batteries from damage. In the case of multiple battery packs, one frame is provided for each pack, with the angle monitored by the relative extensions of teh adjacent frames, while for single packs the angle between the frame and the servo shaft is monitored. The sensors are simple inductive monitors.
